Has the president of the United States been reading The Phalanx recently, if not someone in the White House certainly has. Finally, after all these months and all the nonsense that has been trumpeted by leftists from San Francisco, to Boston to Paris to Berlin, the president has called everyone to task on the reality that is Islamic terrorism. In a major policy speech this morning, the president pointed out an obvious fact. The Islamic murdering savages in Iraq are simply using Iraq as an excuse to commit more murders and unleash more terror on the innocent, be they Muslim or Christian, Iraqi or American. The president noted that terrorism pre-dates Iraq, have we forgotten September 11th? On several occasions the Phalanx pointed out countless examples of Islamic terror that occurred long before Iraq and long before Bush even took office. We have also recounted several cases of Islamic terror occurring in places untouched by Iraq, George Bush or Tony Blair. The reality is simple. These radical want to destruction of our world. They have said as much in speeches, web postings and in rallies. We have been given a simple choice: submit, convert or die. George Bush did not pen these words, the radical Mullahs in mosques throughout the Middle East have penned these words and they carry out their desires with ruthless efficiency in a manner that would make even Hitler and Mussolini proud. Make no mistake about it, the goal of the radicals is abundantly clear. Are these leftist critiques so blind as to think that if we pulled out of Iraq tomorrow terrorism would end? Terror didn’t begin there but we can certainly drive the radicals further to the brink by winning the battle there, before it is our battle to fight here.
