The Phalanx has already told you why Johnny is so poor and regaled you with tales as to why Johnny is so stupid. Now its time learn why Johnny votes Democrat.
As you have noted from earlier entries, The Phalanx isn’t pleased with the track record of George Bush and his Republican cohorts. If the GOP’s errors in governance are rooted in timidness and incompetence, at least we can say they aren’t dictated by an overwhelming desire to run the country into the ground, just to gain political power. For all the buffoonery of the GOP, they never sacrificed the economic and military security of the nation, just to stick it to Bill Clinton.
Today’s Democrats employ a political skill unrivaled in the annals of American history. The Dems, have studied from the masters of history, including: Mussolini, Hitler and more palatable demagogues like Huey Long as well as modern contemporaries like Hugo Chavez. Using their skills at demagoguery, the Democrats have convinced, the poor, the unproductive, and large numbers of minorities that only the left represents their interests. They have played on people’s fears and prejudices to convince them that only the Democratic Party will stand for their rights.
In reality, the Democrats will stand only for their political power. The Democratic strategy is simple: create a subject class of citizens, dependent upon the party for their very subsistence, thereby ensuring a solid Democratic base, from which they can securely win elections. Johnny votes Democrat because the Democrats tell him that his failure is caused by the rich. Johnny would much rather hear that someone else is to blame for his personal failures, and the left understands this. Johnny votes Democrat because they tell him they will provide for his every need, he needn’t concern himself with individual responsibility or working hard to achieve a goal. Why work hard when a hand out will do?
This strategy has worked so well, that large swaths of the population stand with the Democrats, even in the face of incontrovertible evidence that they would be better off pursuing an alternative path. Take for example the case of Social Security reform. There is no question that Social Security deprives people of a reasonable return on their investment, especially in the event of a person’s death. If a private pension fund was run like Social Security, its administrators would be under the jail, yet Johnny and his fellow Democratic slaves prefer the government to make decisions for them rather than make decisions for themselves.
This cult of dependency, which the Democrats have fomented since the 1930s has created a class of people virtually unfit for survival on their own. If Johnny and his fellow Democratic slaves were abandoned on an island rich in vegetation, they would surely starve waiting for someone to feed them. Johnny and his compatriots have been sufficiently brainwashed to the point that countless examples of Democratic hypocrisy fail to open their eyes. Can Johnny wake up? Will Johnny wake up? Probably not, not unless his masters command him to do so…
