Any excuse for violence and mayhem

When it comes to radical Islam, its advocates need little excuse to go on the rampage and it doesn’t matter the target. Today in Pakistan, radicals, still seeming over the Muhammad cartoons, first published in Denmark and papers in other European countries, attacked western interest in the Pakistani city of Lahore. Aside from the fact that such violence highlights the savagery of radical Islam and contempt for freedom of expression, even if it is offensive.
These radicals primarily directed their anger at American interests, the one western country that did not publish the cartoons. Indeed, even a news organ in Jordan published the Muhammad cartoons but it is not Jordan’s flag they burn in the streets. The fact of the matter is these radicals look for any excuse to parade around like scoundrels burning buildings and killing the innocent, as they have done today. Exactly what did those murdered in Lahore have to do with cartoons published in Denmark.
If the radicals were truly enraged about these cartoons, why target the US? Because Denmark as a small country is a insignificant target. Its difficult to motivate and indoctrinate the masses on their contempt for Denmark a country, most uneducated radicals have never heard of and probably can’t find on a map, but they certainly have heard of the US and after all one western country is no different from another, besides, the US, as a model for economic and political success is a prime target for the petty jealousies of radical Islamists.
