Julian Bond, Chairman of the NAACP delivered a scathing diatribe, likening the Republican Party to the Nazi party. For nearly an hour Bond made baseless charges with no real support, typical of the American left, only to be applauded by an audience of drones.

“We now find ourselves refighting old battles we thought we had already won. We have to fight discrimination whenever it raises its ugly head,” Bond noted. "The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side." Its unclear as to what Bond based his groundless assertions upon, but clearly they are the figments of a declining mind. Is there discrimination and prejudice in America today? Yes, of course, just as there is discrimination in practically ever country on earth. Is that discrimination a matter of state policy or a matter of law? No. Do the victims of such discrimination have an outlet for redress of grievances? Yes. By Bond’s standards, however, efforts to create a fertile playing field in which hard work yields success and complacency renders failure is tantamount to Nazism.

By no means are we fans of the GOP many of whom are ideologues with no real direction for the country. Many Republicans, like their Democratic counterparts are partisan hacks whose campaign promises are just that: promises. But to liken the GOP to Nazis is preposterous and highlights a long held strategy of the left. By likening their opponents to Nazis they gain political traction and force their opponents to go on the defensive.

If anything, it is the left who shares similarities with the NSDAP (Nazi Party). Their propensity for advocating state control, their obsession with state programs that bind citizens to the state and their opposition to those who express viewpoints contrary to their own is legendary. If we need evidence of such intolerance, we needn’t look any further than the case of former NAACP President Kwesi Mfume, who called for dialogue and cooperation with the president. To the leftists ideologues this was a betrayal and Mfume was quickly forced out. Indeed, under the leadership of the modern Democratic Party, we have more to fear than under a GOP dominated government.

Bond went on to dismiss the President a liar, noting that the President’s lies were far more serious than those of Clinton because people have died as a result. Exactly what lies is Bond referring too? Most likely was eluding to the subject of Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, which of course is not a lie and if it is, it’s a lie that Bond’s hero, Bill Clinton told frequently during his tenure as president, as well as other prominent leftist, but why should Bond let facts get in the way of a good Mussolini inspired diatribe. Apparently it’s only a lie if you’re a conservative.
