It wasn’t that long ago that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared that the holocaust was a myth. According to Ahmadinejad, this myth was propagated by Jews to give justification for the settlement of thousands of European Jews in modern day Israel.
The merits of the Iranian argument aren’t even worthy of discussion, but then again, these tyrants and mullahs in Tehran have never let facts interfere with their racist hate mongering murderous diatribes.
This week, Isfahan University in Iran, hosted an academic conference to discuss the myth of the holocaust. So what is the true motivation behind this endeavor? Iran’s leadership knows full well the reality that was the Nazi extermination of 10 million people in death camps across Europe, including 6 million Jews. Iran’s populace, however, are like sheep and thus easily manipulated, a reality that is furthered by a society which suppresses independent thought and free expression.
This “conference” is simply the latest in a long line of distractions to divert attention from the fact that Iran is by all intents and purposes, a failed state, with high unemployment, tyrannical government repression and massive poverty.
