Mom on mini-skirt crusade

Whenever we hear stories of parents on crusades about dress codes or football games or meaningless drivel in a public school setting it serves only to reinforce the premise that America has fully embraced a culture which rejects knowledge, values, work ethic and the importance of education. And lends credence to our call for an abolition of the public school system to be replaced with vouchers.
Why is it we never see stories about parents demanding more rigorous standards for their children in school? Why is it parents never ask for more academics in school or better training for teachers? Why? Because they care nothing for these things they care about whether or not Johnny Reb can wear his confederate t-shirt or whether Slutty Jane can expose her entire backside during a one school function or another or how extravagant the next superfluous prom will be and then there’s Leslie Hinkle, she’s concerned that her 4th grade daughter won’t be able to wear her mini-skirt to class.
Never mind the fact that American 4th graders trail behind the rest of the entire industrialized world when it comes to math and science, never mind the fact that today’s elementary school water down curriculum to its most rudimentary components, Ms. Hinkle is concerned about a dress code imposed to prevent distractions in the classroom.
The fact that a parent would raise a child in such a manner demonstrates the shame with which humans can so easily reproduce. America can ill afford to have more parents like this, but sadly there are millions of Leslie Hinkles across this country and none of them care one iota about the value of their child’s education, only the value of their child’s social network and pre-teen sex-capades.
