Under the leadership of the authoritarian Putin, the Russian government has taken steps to become the chief arsenal of tyranny in the world. Before the Iraq War, Russia had been one of Saddam Hussein’s chief benefactors, establishing a lucrative trading arrangement with that country, which accounts for Russia’s opposition to the war from the onset, Russia has also supported Iran, first with the construction and development of a nuclear reactor in that tyrannical regime and then Russia agreed to supply Iran with advanced anti-aircraft technology.

Are these the actions of a nation committed to peace? Russia has consistently opposed any efforts block Iran’s move toward full-scale uranium enrichment and is largely responsible for much of Iran’s nuclear progress in the first place.

If these actions weren’t proof enough, Russia’s relationship Hugo Chavez, Latin America’s Answer to Mussolini, leaves no doubt that Russia aims to be the arsenal of tyranny in the world. Earlier this year, Russia agreed to supply Venezuela with 100,000 assault rifles, now the Russians have moved to increase their arms supplies to the Hispanic il Duce. According to Chavez the Russians are planning to construct a munitions facility in Venezuela, ensuring the oppressive regime a steady supply of weaponry. Russia is also supplying the South American nation with a fleet of military helicopters, to protect against Chavez’s imagined US invasion.

From Russia’s continued efforts to arms radicals and tyrants and its persistent opposition to reigning in nations like Iran and Iraq, there can be no doubt that Russia is no friend of America or of peace in general and is willing to make deals with the devil solely to enhance its own bottom line, perhaps most tragic is the reality that hundreds of Russians have died at the hands of Islamic radicals, yet Russia is willing to coddle these militants for short term monetary gain, inevitably, however, the chickens will come home to roost.
