Liberalism = Tyranny

Ever wonder how any sane person who calls themselves a liberal, or the disgustingly euphemistic "progressive," and yet calls themselves a champion of the constitution and liberty.
Liberalism is diametrically opposed to liberty, much less the US Constitution for the simple fact that Modern American Liberalism (Not to be confused with Classical Liberalism), asserts that it is a fitting and proper role for the state to use its coercive powers to reallocate the wealth, labor and resources of private citizens in pursuit of a purported collective good. Essentially a liberal would argue that an all powerful state by right should make decisions on our behalf.
This certainly isn't the first time in human history that a select have argued that they and they alone should dictate the proper direction for our individual endeavors, that "they" know best. Indeed, the slave masters of the antebellum era certainly felt that way. A liberal cannot support individual liberty, individual recognition and individual achievement as it challenges the supremacy of teh state in such matters. As archtypical liberals like Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton have noted, there is a war against teh idea of the "individual."
