The S word is on the minds of many politicos today and well it should be. Texas Governor Rick Perry has suggested that Texas could once again become the Republic of Texas and perhaps they should and perhaps any other state that truly cherished the freedom our national government abhors.

Loyalty to country is a wonderful thing but first our first loyalty should be to life, liberty and property, two of which (if not all) are under assault in Obama's America. If our nation is no longer willing to secure the blessings of liberty to which we are all entitled, if our nation no longer embraces the Renaissance concept of consent of the governed then what ate we truly being loyal to? Our country may already be no more, replaced by tyranny disguised as representative government, one where dissent is ridiculed and ignored, one where the interests of elites are cherished and everyday citizens are trampled.

We are living in what may well be the twilight of our union and if it be so then hurrah for secession and disunion our last best hope for liberty.
