The arrest by Swiss officials of child rapist and film director Roman Polanski has revealed some troubling realities. Apparently there are quite a few people in this world who have no problem or hesitation to countenance child rape.

Polanksi, a convicted child rapist, fled the United States 30 years ago and since that time has he avoided the public spotlight for fear of shame and arrest? No, our friends in Europe apparently have no problem celebrating this filth. Indeed the French foreign ministry has gone so far as to appeal Polanski's case to both the Swiss and US officials. The French foreign minister went so far as to declare that this incident is symbolic of the "scary America" they fear.

The scary America indeed. Since France and other nations never exhibited any desire to bring this fugitive child rapist to justice, they certainly can't claim that too much time has passed and even if such a claim were made it can hardly excuse such a depraved act. Polanski's legal team assert the degenerate was right to flee as the judge in the case was not going to honor a plea bargain, as if such am act excuses his behavior.

The only thing this case truly reveals is a nation and a man devoid of honor. What a disgrace.
